Grisht Ashram . . . The Fearless Wisdom of Practical Enlightenment Vol 78
Dear Ones - Sat Nam,
The passage of time is like an hourglass where the grains of sand are moments passing through the narrows of the present moment . . . this narrows known (in time) as "now." Sand that has fallen through this narrows is called the "past" and the sand waiting to fall is called the "future." However, remember, there is a view of the glass of time that can see it all in a single glance.
Spiritual mastery — and now scientific study — shows us that time is an illusion; it is a limited perception contained and constrained within our five senses. Past and future are pure imagination, yet extremely convenient markers. They allow us to keep track of all our concepts by making the order of 'things' more logical. Our five senses produce a logical view of the world and this view emulates the "passage of time."
There is a more advanced way to view the cosmos; one that sees all time together as one. In this view — the past, the present and the future are all just the sand in the glass with no reference to its movement. This view, known as the continuum, is the power of our intuition, premonition and the various psychic abilities. Instead of watching each moment of the sand as it moves in the moment, it focuses on all of the sand at once, and just as with all of time ... all of the sand is in fact . . . always existing.
